"I am so annoyed with people over there," Ortley mayor proclaims

 So….the latest, as Ortley Beach residents continue to struggle with myriad recovery issues, is a mayor who proclaimed to the world that he is tired of Ortley Beach residents complaining about the pace of recovery.  "I am so annoyed with people over there," Mayor Kelaher is reported as saying by phone in a June 3 Bloomberg article   So who’s complaining now?

My father used to always tell me that instead of complaining about something, do something to change it. So, if our mayor would step up the pace, improve communications with the people he serves, give us a time line for the steps needed for recovery, and some accountability on how funds are being allocated, maybe we’d stop complaining.

And if meeting the needs of home and business owners in Ortley Beach is too much to handle, then turn the job over to someone who can manage it.

Voters evaluate the effectiveness of officials based on what they do, not on what they say.

Wondering if anyone knows of a program that provides budget relief for local residents experiencing, or projected to experience,  losses greater than 5 percent of their annual income due to impacts of Sandy.
